Torngat Arts and Crafts

Nain

Torngat Arts and Crafts Inc. (TAAC) is a non-profit organization that was created in 2008 by a small group of women who recognized the need and the potential for a craft shop in Nain.

Our craft shop is now located at 17 Sandbanks Road in Nain, Nunatsiavut, Labrador. Our products includes local and regional crafts, stone and caribou antler carvings, sealskin garments, slippers and mitts, traditional clothing, jewellery, grass woven baskets and ornaments, chimo caps, drawings, prints and a lot more. All of the original arts and crafts available on our website are made by Inuit artists located throughout the Nunatsiavut area. Feel free to browse our shop and gallery to discover more unique artwork produced by our talented artists and craft producers!

TAAC is also a co-operating association with Parks Canada in support of the Torngat Mountains National Park, and is the only supplier of Torngat Mountains National Park merchandise. For a few years now, our organization has been operating a satellite shop in the Torngat Mountains National Park during the summer.

Thanks to the dedication of the founding members and the Board of Directors, our organization has experienced growth each year since its creation and is now supporting more than 60 artists and craft producers throughout all Nunatsiavut communities.

TAAC team is working with enthusiasm with a variety of partners to promote Nunatsiavut arts and crafts sector and to showcase the beautiful work or our artists and crafts producers to the world.

Visit our website to learn more about our artists and to see their work in our online gallery.
